Name:Sefa "Joseph" Peiose
Saveasi'uleo, the god of the underworld in Samoan mythology, is said to be the progenitor of the luko, his servants of lalo fonua, the world of darkness. Taking a damned soul, he offered him a chance at redemption by enforcing the laws of Pulotu, the underworld, by punishing the wicked among the living and the dead. So he might have power to mete out justice and the ability to interact with the living, his soul was placed into the body of a fierce black wolf. Thus the first werewolves were born, and from this creature all luko are descended: black wolves of vicious nature, touched by darkness and forever ascribed to bloodshed.

Sefa Peiose is one of four alpha wolves in the Lifi, his pack of birth. Son of the pack chieftan, he is next in line to rule his people as is customary: by killing his father in ritual combat when he is too old and too weak to defend his people, then take his place. While a brutal practice, it is a sign of respect among the luko, allowing wolves to die with honor in battle rather than be taken by the ravages and infirmity of age. Though raised among his own kind, like all members of the ruling bloodline, he was educated among the humans with which the royals share blood, allowing him to easily assimilate into the real world so the luko can watch over their weaker kin.
